The Walled Garden - Winter Border

The southern beds of the walled garden, either side of the wooden gate as you enter the garden have been planted as a winter border. The border was originally planted by the tenant in the late 1980s, when it was his private garden, and contained many common readily available shrubs that had become very overgrown. A new planting scheme was prepared in 2012 based on plants with winter interest in order to provide visitors with an interesting display during a period when other parts of the garden are sometimes inaccessible.
