Description:

A hardy evergreen shrub up to 1m native to the Himalayas and the Far East. Most are dioecious, meaning they have male and female flowers on different plants, and both sexes must be planted to ensure a crop of fruits. The flower buds, which appear in autumn and winter, are a prominent feature of the plant, as are the scented yellow cream flowers flowers which open in late winter. Kew Green' is a smal shrub with aromatic, broadly oblong leaves to 12cm in length and large clusters of small, fragrant greenish-yellow flowers in spring.

Site and Care:

Plant in any type of well-drained soil in partial or complete shade. Pruning is only necessary for shape. Propagation is by cuttings in late spring or hardwood cuttings in winter.
