Rosa banksiae 'Lutea'

Yellow banksia rose

Location

The West front Courtyard

Description:

Hardy, climbing Rose, H and S 10m (30ft) with dense clusters of scentless, rosette double pale yellow flowers 2cm (¾in) across borne on slender, thornless, light green stems in May. Native to central and western China.

Site and Care:

Prefers full sun, but tolerates a wide range of situations with moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well drained soil. Pruning should be carried out after flowering to maintain the shape and spread of the plant. Old dead wood should be removed but care should be taken as flowers only arise from two year old wood.
