Description:

This is a very beautiful, white flowered cherry, flat topped sometimes drooping and spreading in habit. The masses of snow white blooms are produced from early to mid-April. In maturity it can have a spread of 10m (30ft) on a tree some 8m (25ft) high. The flowers are very large, single or semi-double and held in pendulous clusters. They have a slight but sweet fragrance. The summer foliage is bright-green and shiny.

Site and Care:

Does best in moderately fertile soil of any type in full sun. Fully hardy it will tolerate a dry situation but prefers some moisture. Low maintenance. Prune in winter for shape only.
