Description:

Very spiny, hardy deciduous flowering shrub grown for its foliage, showy fragrant white flowers and small orange-like fruits 3m (10ft) high by 3m (10ft) wide, with arching, slightly lax branches, grown for the masses of white flowers in spring up to 5cm (2") across. The genus is native to China and Korea.

Site and Care:

Does best in full sun and fertile, well drained soil. Pruning should be carried out after flowering to maintain shape. Propagation is by semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
