Description:

A hardy woody perennial deciduous shrub, native to Siberia, that grows to 3 m (10 ft.) or more. The 5-lobed, 2-2.5cm flowers are pink to almost red, appearing in late April and May followed by red berries in Autumn.

Site and Care:

It will thrive in soil of any type in full sun often in poor conditions. It requires little maintenance but may be pruned for control and shape, including the removal of old wood, after flowering. Propagation is by semi-ripe cuttings in the Autumn.
