Description:

An uncommon, hardy, medium sized (2.5m x 2.5m), shrubby honeysuckle native to the United States,with masses of yellow flowers in early spring followed by dark red bracts and shiny purple-black fruit. The colourful fruit lasts well into autumn, making ithighly ornamental garden plant with good year round interest. Also popular with insects and butterflies.

Site and Care:

Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist, fertile soil of any type. It requires little maintenance but may be pruned for control and shape, including the removal of old wood, after flowering but can be pruned back hard if required to reduce the size. Propagation is by semi-ripe cuttings in the Autumn.
