Description:

This small, up to 40cm, exotic looking half-hardy plant, originating from Chile, forms attractive rosettes of spiny, tough foliage. The leaves are green on the surface and pale brown beneath. Mature plants produce flowers from the centre of the rosette in summer when the innermost leaves are usually brightly coloured.

Site and Care:

It is frost-tender needing a well-drained, sheltered spot to survive. Protect plants from winter wet.
