Hinton Ampner Garden

Eupatorium ligustrinum

Mexican Hemp Agrimony

Location

On the terrace just to the right of the French window from the library.

Description:

An interesting semi-evergreen shrub that will withstand moderate frosts. Native to Mexico, it grows to 2.0m x 1.5m (6ft x 4ft) with dense clusters of creamy white flowers in early-mid autumn that are very appealing to butterflies.

Site and Care:

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil, of any type, in full sun. May be pruned in late winter before new growth appears. Propagation is easy from seed but cuttings taken in summer will succeed or the plant can be divided in the spring.
