Description:

A rare species of flowering plant in the daisy family, it has been found only in the Columbia River Gorge. A hardy, herbacious North American perennial up to 25 centimeters (8 inches) tall, with succulent-looking stems and lance shaped leaves. Flowerheads are 3.5-6cm (1½-2½in) across and are shades of deep blue and purple to nearly white.

Site and Care:

Good for mass planting in sunny locations with poor, dry soil, rock borders or paving. Tidy up the plants in early spring before new growth begins. Easily divided in autumn or early spring.
