The Temple Garden.
Description:
A hardy medium size (up to 3m) deciduous Spring flowering shrub, native to western China, with tubular lilac-rose flowers 2.5cm long and mid-green ovate-lance-shaped leaves, 5-14cm long.
Site and Care:
Prefers full sun or partial shade but tolerates a wide range of situations with moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well drained alkaline (chalky) soil. Pruning should be carried out after flowering to maintain the shape and spread of the plant. Propagate from semi-ripe cuttings or seed.
