Location

The east (Diana) end of the Long Walk.

Description:

An hardy evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub growing to 3m native to southwestern China and northern Thailand. The leaves are oval shiny sage green green above with dense whitish to yellowish hairs below. The flowers are produced in in May and June and an abundance of deep orange pearl sized bird friendly berries in autumn.

Site and Care:

It is suitable for all soils other than very wet and any situation from full sun to dense shade. It is suitable for coastal areas and performs well in exposed sites. Trim after the berries have fallen. It is an evergreen but some leaves will drop in autumn.
