Description:

A deciduous spreading, open hardy shrub of the dogwood family with oval dark green leaves changing to reddish brown in autumn. H: 5m S: 5m (15ft x 15ft). Native to central and southern Europe and western Asia. Yellow flowers on bare shoots in late winter followed by bright red fruits.

Site and Care:

Will grow in any type of soil in full sun or partial shade. It is a slow growing shrub that requires only pruning for shape. Propagation is by half-ripe side shoot cuttings in summer or hardwood cuttings in Winter. Seed is difficult to germinate.
