Description:
A hardy perennial with dark green, veined, lance-shaped leaves. H: 60cm S: 30cm (2ft x 1ft), native to North America, grown for spikes of hooded deep rose flowers produced in late summer and autumn.
Site and Care:
Prefers moist to wet soil in partial shade to shade. Useful for woodland planting schemes. Plants benefit from a deep mulch of organic matter in prolonged cold spells. Propagation is by soft-tip cuttings, division during winter dormancy, or seed.
