Cestrum parqui
Green cestrum
Location
The Terrace and Temple Garden.
Description:
A deciduous to semi-evergreen bushy shrub (H 2m x S 2m) with linear to lance-shaped, mid to dark green leaves and, from summer to autumn, clusters of night-scented, tubular, bright yellow-green flowers followed by purple-brown fruit.
Site and Care:
It grows well in direct sun in any soil and benefits from the protection of a south or west wall as it is not reliably hardy. Lightly prune in spring. Propagation is by cuttings in summer.
