Brunnera macrophylla
Location
The Walled Garden, Autumn and Church Borders
Description:
One of the most attractive and useful spring-flowering hardy perennials, producing a dense ground-covering layer of early foliage up to 45 cm. The leaves, up to 15cm (6in) across provide an attractive foil for the sprays of starry pale blue forget-me-not flowers. Flowering for several weeks in spring.
Site and Care:
Grow in full sun or part shade in fertile in well-drained/light, clay or heavy soils of any type. If plants are cut down, shortly after flowering a new flush of fresh green foliage and occasional late flowers appears, rejuvenating the appearance of plants. Propagate by division in early spring.
