Description:

A hardy perennial, to 75cm, with downy, silvery foliage it acts as a foil for other more brilliantly coloured plants Useful for dry situations, it bears large woolly heads of brownish-yellow flowers from mid-summer to autumn.

Site and Care:

Grow in full sun in well-drained/light soil, of any type. It will benefit from a mulch over winter and can be cut back in spring. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and pinch growing tips to keep compact. Propagate by softwood cuttings in spring, and semi-hardwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots at other times or by division in early spring.
