Description:

A perennial, native to Mexico, which will grow quickly from seed to 3 feet (0.9m), and should flower in the first year, starting in mid-summer, with dense whorls of brilliant, red-purple flowers ideal for cutting. The highly aromatic lemon-scented young leaves can be used as a flavouring, in salads and in tea.

Site and Care:

The plant prefers a well drained soil of any type and full sun. Propagate by seed or division in spring.
