Abelia x grandiflora compacta
A deciduous spreading, hardy shrub, with glossy dark green leaves grown for its fragrant pink tinged white flowers freely borne in late summer. A cross between Abelia chinensis and A. uniflora this is a dwarf version of A.grandiflora growing to no more than 1m x 1m.
Site and Care:
Will grow in any type of soil in full sun or partial shade and can benefit from the shelter of a south or west facing wall. Pruneafter flowering to maintain shape. May need hard pruning every 4-5 years .Propagate by softwood cuttings in early summer or semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer
