Description:

A not uncommon medium sized hardy deciduous flowering shrub, 2m by 2m, with ovate, dense cream and green leaves and clusters of funnel-shaped, pale pink flowers in late spring. The genus is native to East Asia.

Site and Care:

Does best in full sun and fertile, well drained soil, of any type, although it will tolerate part shade. Pruning should only be carried out after flowering. Older plants may need to be hard pruned every few years in early spring. Propagate by softwood cuttings in early summer, semi-hardwood cuttings in summer or hardwood cuttings in late autumn and winter.
