Description:

 A long flowering, spreading, clump forming perennial for moist shade or a sunny position, native to parts of North India and Southwest China. Great infill between shrubs and a good weed suppressant in good soil. Attractive, deeply veined mid-green foliage, with buff reverse and short spikes of fragrant white/pink flowers from late July to October.

Site and Care:

Fast growing it is best in moist fertile soil in full sun or partial shade with some protection from high wind and is drought tolerant once established. Needs reasonable amount of moisture if grown in full sun. Cut back to ground each winter when it will benefit from mulching. Propagation is by root cuttings or division in winter.
