The Terrace (South wall of the west wing)
Description:
A tall evergreen shrub from California, vigorous but not reliably hardy, and should be grown against a sunny warm wall in all but the mildest gardens. Deep-yellow, single flowers, up to 7cm in diameter are produced from May until September.
Site and Care:
Grow in a well drained to dry poor soil of any type, preferably in full sun against a wall. On no account transplant once established. Remove crossing shoots, annually, in late winter or early spring to maintain a healthy framework. Prune in mid to late summer to encourage new growth and flowers. Propagate by cuttings in spring.
