Description:

Hardy deciduous flowering shrub, 3m (10ft) high by 3m (10ft) wide, with arching, slightly lax branches, grown for the masses of white flowers in spring up to 5cm (2") across. The genus is native to China and East Asia. Named Pearlbush from the pearl like flower buds just before they burst.

Site and Care:

Does best in full sun and fertile, well drained soil. Pruning should only be carried out immediately after flowering. Propagation is by softwood cuttings in summer.
