Description:

An evergreen variety that flowers all through Christmas (November to February) reaching heights up to 3.5m (12 feet). Freckles has a lot more colour than other evergreen clematis with the majority being white or cream. Flowers 5cm in width, pale yellow heavily speckled with maroon within and divided, lobed and toothed glossy dark green leaves tinged bronze in winter.

Site and Care:

Grow in full sun on a south-facing or west-facing sheltered wall in fertile, moist but well-drained, especially chalky soils, and may also be planted in a container. No pruning is required other than to maintain shape. Propagate by layering.
